Faculty of Health Sciences
AN INNOVATIVE FACULTY; A VIBRANT AND VITAL ACADEMIC COMMUNITY
In the Fall of 2014, the Faculty of Health Sciences launched its « 2014-2018 Action Plan » which is now accessible on our website. This plan is the result of a focused and rigorous exercise conducted by the Dean’s Office, directors of the academic units and many other members of the teaching and support staff.
In recent years, the Faculty of Health Sciences has sought to strengthen its position as a faculty that responds proactively to scientific advances as well as to the rapid, frequent and profound changes that health systems are experiencing. By training researchers, professionals and decision makers who have contact with multiple disciplines, by concentrating on innovative and collaborative research focused on the patient and the person and by establishing partnerships with the community, the Faculty aims to be a major contributor in adjusting to these challenges.
Four of the five academic units with undergraduate programs in nursing, nutrition, human kinetics and the interdisciplinary study of health sciences offers a wide variety of programs aimed at distinctive qualities of academic excellence and uniqueness. Nevertheless, it’s in an extremely competitive academic environment in which our Faculty and students operate with a commitment to constantly improve program offering. It is within that perspective that the Faculty continuously strives to provide students, professors with the best possible learning environment creating synergies between programs academic units and our academic partners in the community to anchor university experience within a real-life perspective for enhancing person-centered health care.
We hope you'll be as proud as we are to be part of this unique dynamic.
