The Human Rights Office is inviting members of the University of Ottawa community with disabilities to share their opinion on the University of Ottawa Accessibility Plan 2035-2030 (pdf, 615 KB). This information will help guide the Human Rights Office during the annual review of this plan.

Discrimination, anti-racism and anti-hate

The Government of Ontario passed Bill 166 — Strengthening Accountability and Student Supports in May 2024. On September 9, 2024, the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) issued the “Minister’s Anti-Racism and Anti-Hate Directives” under Bill 166 to all universities and colleges, directing postsecondary institutions to implement policies and procedures on anti-racism and anti-hate by January 31, 2025.

The Human Rights Office has taken the lead in reviewing the following to ensure they meet the ministry’s directives:

The Human Rights Office will work with its partners to publicize the consultation process and increase input various perspectives, including students and staff who are members of groups who are frequently targets of racism or hate.
