An initiative long in the making between the Office of the Chief Risk Officer and Facilities, this jersey symbolizes the “one-team mentality” that is foundational to workplace health and safety.
What better way to represent this at uOttawa than through our colours! Much like any team, everyone has a part to play. The Gee Gees logo epitomizes the inherent leadership qualities of all University staff.
Under the leadership of Carolina de Moura, chief risk officer; Hi Nguyen, director of Protection Services; and Geoff Frigon, associate vice president, facilities (interim), their respective teams signed the jersey, symbolizing their commitment to preventing workplace injuries, harassment and violence. The teams’ efforts make the University a healthier and safer workplace for everyone.
Displayed at the entrance of 141 Louis Pasteur, the jersey is not only a striking addition to the decor, but a reminder to everyone entering the building that we are all Gee Gees, committed to workplace health and safety.
As Carolina de Moura says, “At the end of the day, everyone has to go home to their family healthy and safe. It’s not one person or department that makes a healthy and safe workplace. It takes everyone — a team — working together to make it happen.”
