The roles and responsibilities presented below aim to summarize and elaborate on those described in University policies and procedures, namely:

Module 3.3 - Compliance

You are responsible and accountable for your actions. The laboratory supervisors are responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the University and the lab. Failure to abide by these requirements may result in the following escalation procedure. Situations are handled on a case‑by‑case basis in accordance with the applicable collective agreement or codes of conduct, with the severity of the incident or violation determining any related sanctions.

  • Reminder of expected conduct
  • Warning
  • Meeting with technical officer and/or supervisor
  • Meeting with lab director and/or department chair
  • Suspension of lab privileges
  • Expulsion from lab

Workers are invited to speak with their union/association executives if enforcement action is taken.
