A form of modern-day slavery, human trafficking is a crime that involves force, fraud or coercion to control another person against their will for the purposes of labour or commercial sex acts.
If you believe that you or someone you know may be a victim of human trafficking, there is a way to safely get help. Call or email Protection Services at [email protected] or 613-562-5499 and we can respond quickly to on-Campus issues or help you get in touch with the authorities.
Whether or not you have been targeted by human traffickers, it’s a good idea to be prepared to stay safe if you may be at risk (such as when traveling, or when in a relationship with someone who asks you to do things that make you uncomfortable).
