Biography

Marianne Saikaley is an employee of the University of Ottawa since 2008 and was elected to the Board of Governors in 2022. She currently holds the position of Project Manager within the Dean's Office at the Faculty of Social Sciences.  She is responsible for managing important strategic projects from conception to implementation. Her projects cut across several sectors, allowing her to have a complete picture of the Faculty’s administrative and academic activities. She previously worked as Research Management Lead for the Vice-Dean, Research where she gained experience in financial management, human resources as well as physical and material resources. Consequently, she developed in-depth knowledge of research management.  Marianne is a University of Ottawa Alumni and holds a Master of Human Kinetics – Concentration in Sport Management and a Bachelor of Honours in Human Kinetics. On top of her professional experience, Marianne’s interpersonal and leadership skills help her foster trust and engagement with her colleagues and clientele. She is the founder of the Facebook group uOttawa Support Staff Discussion which is composed of approximately 870 support staff members.
