Film Synopsis
On June 22, 2020, the Ontario Minister of Education placed the Peel District School Board (PDSB) under supervision following a review that exposed systemic discrimination, particularly anti-Black racism, along with significant governance, leadership, and HR challenges.
In response, CPE Studios, commissioned by the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at Toronto Metropolitan University, produced this original documentary series. Directed by Garrick Apollon, LLB, JD, LLM, LLCM, CFE, inaugural Filmmaker-in-Residence at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Lost Generation explores systemic challenges and discriminatory practices in Canadian schools, offering actionable insights for meaningful change.
