Event description

This special activity, presented by the Decolonization and Indigenizing Committee of the Faculty of Social Sciences, is an online roundtable with Mona Tolley, Dara Wawatie-Chabot, and Mike Diabo, all from the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg First Nation. The panel will discuss Residential Schools in Canada and link the topic to current Indigenous realities and education. Participants can engage through a Q&A session to explore best practices for educators and administrators.

  • Dara Wawatie-Chabot: Political science student, researcher in clean energy, and powwow dancer.

  • Mike Diabo: High school science educator and land-based learning facilitator.

  • Mona Tolley: Anishinabe educator with 20+ years of experience in integrating Indigenous Ways of Knowing into her practice.
