As an Indigenous student, there are many options available to support your postsecondary journey. Be sure to review the scholarships and bursaries available to Indigenous students at the University of Ottawa.

The University of Ottawa offers many scholarships and bursaries to support students. Refer to the Online Scholarships and Bursaries website for more general or faculty-oriented financial aid. You should also check the scholarship page that lists internal scholarships for current Indigenous students. Don’t forget to check the links provided for scholarship conditions, eligibility and further information on applying for these scholarships.

What should I know about eligibility?

The University of Ottawa has an Eligibility for Focused Admissions, Scholarships and Bursaries for First Nations, Inuit and Métis People academic regulation (PDF 211 KB) specifically for students who want to apply for reserved seats in faculties as a part of the admission cycle and/or apply for bursaries and scholarships reserved for first Nations, Métis and Inuit people. There are criteria associated with this academic regulation and students applying to any of the reserve seats, scholarships, or bursaries must provide the information requested in order to be considered for admissions.

Besides the scholarships and bursaries offered by the University of Ottawa, there are many external opportunities available to Indigenous learners.
