PurposeLive events in M365 are an extension of Teams meetings that enable you to schedule, produce, and deliver live events that stream to large online audiences (up to 10,000 attendees).
Desktop client
  • Windows users must have Office 2013 or 2016 for Windows 7 and 10.
  • Mac users must have Office 2016 for Mac.
Apps integrationTeams, Yammer and Stream.
Supported browserLatest version of Internet Explorer , Microsoft Edge or Chrome.
External sharingExternal sharing is possible.
Available via mobileOnly for attendees.
Limitations
  • Maximum audience size is 10,000 attendees.
  • Maximum duration of an event is 4 hours.
  • Maximum number of concurrent pre-live or live events across M365 is 15.

Eligibility

A5 license for Faculty: available for Professors, research associates (except postdoctoral fellows), librarians, power plant and trades personnel in the following groups: SSUO, PIPSC, management positions (NM) and confidential positions (NC)

Fees 

Live events is part of M365 service and provided at no cost to eligible users.

Features

  • Live events is designed for one-to-many communications where the host of the event is leading the interactions and audience participation is primarily to view the content shared by host.

  • Attendees can watch the live or recorded event in Microsoft Teams, Yammer, or Microsoft Stream, and can participate in discussions using moderated Q & A or a Yammer conversation.
