Europe

Connecting continents and cultivating strategic collaborations

• Fostering a global community to shape a better tomorrow
• Bridging continents to enhance global collaboration and academic innovation
• Achieving Sustainable Development Goals on technology, innovation, good health and well-being

Europe is a key destination for our students, faculty, and researchers thanks to its long tradition of teaching and research excellence. Europe is also key to advancing our mission of promoting bilingualism and the Francophonie. With the creation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and the European Research Area (ERA), the European Union has made substantial investments in higher education and research. Furthermore, the University of Ottawa will benefit from Canada’s associate membership in Horizon Europe in 2024. By building strong relations with our European partners, the University of Ottawa is well positioned to address the most pressing global challenges.

The Americas

By forging innovative partnerships with institutions across the Americas, we strive to build educational programs and develop collaborative initiatives that build capacity, address sustainable development goals (SDGs), and train the next generation of leaders.

Double-degree programs

The University of Ottawa has numerous double-degree graduate programs and seeks to bridge knowledge gaps across borders by partnering with world class universities. Our collaboration with renowned universities provides opportunities for students to learn in new academic environments, make the most of cultural experiences, and gain global competencies. Students earn a degree from both the University of Ottawa and the partner institution.

It is the very first alliance of university presidents aimed at structuring and advancing their role as global actors across multilateral agendas.

Differential Tuition Fee Exemption ScholarshipIn keeping with our commitment to the French-speaking world, the University of Ottawa offers a Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship to international Francophone and Francophile students enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program given in French, or in the French Immersion Stream. This major assistance in funding their studies reduces their tuition fees considerably.

International Doctoral ScholarshipThis scholarship is intended for international doctoral students. An important contribution to the financing of their studies.
