Biography

François-Éric Racicot, PhD, is a full professor of finance and applied economics (econometrics) at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. He holds a BSc and MSc in economics (econometrics) from the University of Montreal and a PhD in applied economics and finance from the School of Management of the Université du Québec à Montréal (ESG UQAM).

Professor Racicot has been teaching finance for over 15 years. He teaches quantitative finance and applied econometrics in undergraduate programs (BCom) and graduate programs (MSc and PhD) at the Telfer School of Management. He taught quantitative finance and financial econometrics at ESG-UQAM for several years (from 1999 to 2005). Afterwards, he was recruited by the department of administration of the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), where he taught finance from 2005 to 2012, was responsible for the MBA in financial services and the advanced graduate diploma in finance from 2007 to 2012, and promoted and founded the institution’s MSc in financial economics.

He has published several books on quantitative finance and financial econometrics that are used by those who practise computational finance and financial engineering, particularly students at the graduate level (MSc and PhD). Professor Racicot has also published over 50 articles in internationally renowned scientific journals. His articles have been awarded prizes for best article and have been nominated by several international conferences and organizations.

His research on the macroeconomic risk of hedge funds is currently funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
