Professor Simon is the Chair of Taiwan studies at the University of Ottawa. His research examines relations between Taiwan and the Indo-Pacific region, based on sociological understandings of ethnic identities, nationalism, and human rights in Taiwan. He is available to speak about the implications of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on peace and security in the Taiwan Strait
