Mental health has never been so important in the context of COVID-19. Facing the closure of workplaces and health services, and the uncertainties about the future, people tend to feel anxious, depressed and uneasy. Such feelings can be normal reactions to external stressors. Yet, some may progress into a more severe state without early intervention.

It is important for the general public to b e aware of the signs of depression and anxiety and take evidence-based self-help actions to avoid becoming sick. One ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The pandemic will eventually end so we need to do as much as we can to help ourselves, our families, and our friends through this difficult time.”
