At the uOttawa Faculty of Medicine body donors are treated with the utmost respect and awe. They are known as “Silent Teachers”, teaching students about anatomy, changes in bodies, and surgical skills.

"It's quite touching knowing that someone donated their body for us to be able to learn so that we can help others," says Eric Bhatti, a second year uOttawa MD student. "I actually like to give a quick prayer before I start with the lesson of the day, just saying that I'm thankful for the opportunity to the family and the person donating the body."

Students greatly appreciate this experience that will help mold them help great physicians. To thank the donors and their family for this opportunity, the Faculty of Medicine staff and students invite you to join them in celebrating the lives of their silent teachers at a special memorial service.
