On Thursday, May 6, more than 200 high school students from Ottawa and across Ontario will meet online to explore careers in medicine. They will speak with award-winning uOttawa faculty members, take part in interactive workshops demonstrating real-world medical and health science research skills, and get a clear picture of what it’s really like to be a health professional.
Supported by Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, this virtual event is co-hosted by the University of Ottawa Faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame.

9:05 a.m. : Opening remarks
9:15 a.m. : Keynote lecture from Dr. Doug Manuel, MD FRCPC – Senior Scientist, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) and Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and School of Epidemiology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa.
10:00 – 11:15 a.m. : Virtual Interactive Workshops (Workshops catalogue available here).
