MEDIA ADVISORY – Meet the very first MakerLaunch cohort

The inaugural cohort of MakerLaunch, an intensive growth program for start-ups at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa, is about to land to review its progress.

The 3 startups Noibu, GameStrat and Wandure will be sharing their progress and results during MakerLaunch Demo Day, on November 21st.

Here’s a glimpse of their results:

• Noibu: Founded in 2017 by Kailin Noivo, Robert Boukine, Filip Slatinac and Dan Cardamore, Noibu is a digital platform that detects critical errors on e-commerce websites. 208% MoM (month over month) growth rate during the program.

• GameStrat: Founded in 2015 by two former uOttawa gee-gees, Tunch Akkaya and Elijah Wu, GameStrat is a cutting-edge sideline replay system that gives coaches and players the ability to review plays in real-time during practices and games. 115% revenue growth since May.

• Wandure: Founded in 2016 by Ali Kazal and Ismail Benmbarek, Wandure is a service that allows users to explore travel destinations through unique and personalised experiences. 53% increase in number of users.

MakerLaunch provides University of Ottawa students and recent alumni entrepreneurs with the support necessary to fast track commercialization of technologies and launch new tech startups. Our program is designed to propel startups to success by surrounding them with the team, facilities and tools needed to launch and scale.

MakerLaunch Demo Day is part of the events hosted during the Global Entrepreneurship Week presented by the University of Ottawa.
