The University of Ottawa is pleased to announce that it is one of 17 Canadian institutions selected to take part in the Dimensions: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Canada pilot project.

The project, which will run for five years, is an initiative of Canada’s Tri-Council granting agencies, including the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).  It seeks to promote research excellence, innovation and creativity within the postsecondary sector across all disciplines by encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion.

“The program’s principles are fundamental components of our vision of learning, education and research,” said Jacques Frémont, president and vice-chancellor of the University. “Our participation will serve as a catalyst for tangible actions that will ultimately increase unity and diversity within our university community. This collaboration with the three agencies also strongly aligns with our goal of an even more diversified and inclusive campus.”
