Representation of a virtual fair.
More connected with our community!

Earlier this fall, the University launched Easy Virtual Fair, a virtual tradeshow and fair platform. Given that the pandemic is expected to continue in 2021, this solution will facilitate hosting of online trade shows and job fairs. Tradeshows are already scheduled weekly up into May!

The tool offers practical features such as vendor booths, private and public chats, and compatibility with other platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom – truly delivering dynamic event planning. Additionally, hosts can measure the success of events with metrics and event analytics. This solution eliminates the obstacles of geography and extends our audience reach through virtual event setups for career fairs or open houses that are just one click away.

The tool has already facilitated events the Career Development Centre and the Faculty of Law. “We used Easy Virtual Fair last fall to present our newly accredited club to students and faculty members at the Faculty of Law in the Civil Law section,” explained Angelique Anna Merakos, Faculty of Law, a student in the Civil Law section.  “This platform allowed us to easily and efficiently present our club’s mission, recruit members through online forms at our virtual booth, and meet students personally through video conferencing. Overall, the experience with Easy Virtual Fair was seamless and very user friendly!”

As a result of the tremendous interest for hosting virtual events, Conventions and Reservations is continually investigating ways to support the community in delivery quality virtual experiences.

“One of the biggest achievements of this initiative is the synergy we created in working together,” Marie-Sylvie Lepage Pruneau, Team Lead at Conventions and Reservations explains. “There was good collaboration between my team, Information Technology and TLSS to work together to make virtual events work for hosts, visitors and participants. We need to rethink how to take an in-person event and make it virtual. We are excited for the possibilities to offer support for virtual events and hybrid events in the future.”
