Rolling out Copilot for Microsoft 365 (M365) at uOttawa involves planning and strategic preparation to ensure a smooth and effective implementation.

You may have used Copilot on the web *link to be added here* for some of your daily tasks, but we are looking at Copilot for Microsoft365 (M365) to deliver increased efficiencies in tools you use daily. Before introducing a transformative tool like Copilot for M365 to the University, it's crucial to conduct thorough due diligence. This comprehensive process ensures that we meet all necessary requirements, address potential challenges, and adhere to our responsible AI principles. 

Given the extensive nature of this review, Copilot for the web will be available in the interim, providing immediate benefits while we finalize the full rollout.

AI preparedness and due diligence is crucial for rolling out Copilot on M365 for several reasons:

  • Microsoft PowerPoint: Slide content and designs, and automatic summaries of key points.
  • Microsoft Outlook: Summarized email content and assisted scheduling and task management.
  • Microsoft Teams: Meeting summaries, key highlights of conversations and automation of repetitive tasks and workflows.
