What is your job title?
Interim Senior Director, IT Services and Infrastructure.
How do you see your role going forward?
I feel that focusing on our employees is extremely important considering how we are all impacted by the global pandemic in diverse ways. Regardless of my role in Information Technology, I want to help ensure the health and wellness of our community. I started in this area a bit when I worked on the Trust workshops to facilitate remote working pre-pandemic. I want to continue with enabling positive workplace relationships. As we transition out of our current remote working environment, it will be important for our people to feel engaged, safe, and happy while working in Information Technology.

Mixing coffee beans to make the perfect blend for espressos.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?
Matthew 7:12: All things, therefore, that you want men (people) to do to you, you also must do to them.

What are you learning now, and why is it important?
I’m currently focused on expanding my leadership skills. By taking advantage of this interim position, I can use what I’m learning to better manage. Hopefully, I will foster a new skillset to continue to lead major initiatives in an increasingly strategic way.

What trend do you hope makes a comeback?
I really enjoyed the days before my first BlackBerry! I wasn’t constantly looking at my phone, checking emails, etc.… So, here’s hoping we go back to the days of flip phones!
