What is your role working in Information Technology?  

I work as a web developer and strategist in the Change management and engagement group.  

What degree are you currently pursuing?  

I am currently pursuing an Honours BSc with Specialization in Computer Science. 

What did people in your group do to help you integrate into the group and help get you started on the activities assigned to you? 

In my group, we played some icebreaker games and had a team lunch for us to get to know each other. To get up to speed on my tasks, my team hosted weekly working sessions. My teammates were also patient, answered my questions and provided sufficient resources to help me familiarize myself with the work. 

What are your main responsibilities in your position in Information Technology?  

As a web developer and strategist, my main responsibility is to develop and transform the Information Technology website to a new look and feel.  

What do you like about your job in this work term? 

In this work term, there are a lot of things I love: the hybrid work mode, flexible working hours, the office setup, having the chance to explore and analyze the user interface and experience, etc.  

What skillsets have you developed since working in Information Technology?  

The job helped me develop my communication and organizational skills. From a technical perspective, I have acquired knowledge of user experience, user interface, and mastered tools such as Drupal9, Figma and Microsoft365.  

Why did you apply for this position in Information Technology?  

I was curious about what Information Technology as a department looked like and what the workflow was. In addition, I wanted to acquire more knowledge about the technical field.  

What did you learn that you expect you can transfer into your next job opportunity? 

I expect myself to become more confident to communicate with colleagues and organize tasks in my next job opportunity.
