Support staff, faculty members, and students now have free access to the university-licensed Copilot for the Web. By logging in to Copilot, the uOttawa community can benefit from faster responses, faster image creation and some data security protections. Unlike other generative AI tools, information exchanged with Copilot is not stored or used to develop AI models, ensuring data privacy.
Getting started with Copilot for the Web
To get started with Copilot, log in using your uOttawa credentials.
Take a moment to watch this brief two-minute video that guides you through the features in addition to examples of your new AI companion use cases.
Try it yourself! Type a simple prompt such as:
- Summarize uOttawa’s Polaris project in a few simple language bullets
- Draft an email to my team about the steps we’ll take for their annual performance review
- Provide a comparison of lunch options at different uOttawa campus restaurants using a table that compares location, meal, price ranges
For additional information about Copilot, you can also visit the Copilot Lab. There, you’ll find details about the tool’s features and benefits, video tutorials and more. It’s easily accessible from your phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.
Welcome to the new era!
