Professor Lee-Yaw's lab is exploring the effect of wildfire on animal populations, with a focus on amphibians and carnivores, including bears.
"Our work in Jasper involves understanding the genetic relationships between both long-toed salamanders and western toad populations in the park and those in other parts of Alberta and B.C. We have recently sampled both species in Jasper so we have the potential to look at the genetic health of these populations prior to these fires, which may inform post-fire management priorities."

Professor Rivers’ research interests include air pollution, climate change and the economic evaluation of environmental policies. He can also discuss air quality issues, including recent research on clean air and cognitive productivity.
