Over the past year Information Technology has been focused on enriching the community’s user experience. We didn’t limit ourselves to just technology either. We delivered experiences that enhance the University’s culture and diversity, and people are noticing. See our transformative initiatives that were nominated for the 2021 President’s Awards.

Each year the president recognizes employees who have consistently contributed to enriching the university experience and achieving the institutional strategic plan. Congratulations to the IT Service Management team on your outstanding contributions to building the university of tomorrow.

Imagine over 700 employees working remotely and not having access to a University laptop. This was the reality at the start of the pandemic. Thankfully, our second-level support team are remote working superheroes! From finance staff to communications teams and IT representatives, the team developed key partnerships to deliver the equipment required for business continuity. To date, they’ve delivered over 960 laptops, expedited equipment delivery, and provided cost savings.

“The team worked with IT and administrative members of all faculties and departments to be able to provide them with the necessary equipment in times of a pandemic. Great collaboration from everyone meant that they were able to respond quickly to the needs of the moment. People had great needs and because the support team was able to respond effectively to their requirements, this confidence was built very quickly,”
Jean-François Dion, IT Manager, Information Technology.
