Travel insurance
- Student medical and travel insurance coverage:
- Faculty and staff member medical and travel insurance coverage:
- Medical insurance is covered under the uOttawa benefits package provided by Human Resources and Canada Life.
- Canada Life policies do not include coverage for trip cancellations, interruptions, or delays, so travellers would need to purchase this coverage from a third party, if necessary. Those who hold uOttawa PCards may have this coverage.
- The University does not provide property insurance that covers personal items belonging to staff, faculty or students. Travellers need to contact a third-party insurance provider if they require such coverage.
General liability insurance
The University does hold general liability insurance coverage through the Office of the Chief Risk Officer. This coverage extends to students and faculty members studying or working abroad on approved programs and course-related internships or placements. The liability coverage is limited to $5,000,000.
