In April 2019, OLBI welcomed Heike Neumann of Concordia University, who presented her recent research on source use in academic writing and the challenges both students and assessors face regarding integrated writing tasks. The presentation was a stimulating springboard for discussion.

Mi’gmaq immersion and nature-based education: A conversation with educators from Listuguj First Nation
Joyce and Brenda Germain recently visited OLBI to share the inspiring and joyful story of their Mi’gmaq immersion and nature-based education program in Listuguj. They talked about benefits of using this approach to teaching for overall well being, for academic success, and for Indigenous language and cultural revitalisation.
