Bertrand, J. Richard

J. Richard Bertrand is vice-president of government affairs at Pratt & Whitney Canada. A marketing, public-relations and strategic-communications expert, Mr. Bertrand has a stellar track record as a business executive. Still, all along the whirlwind journey to the pinnacle of corporate success, he has never lost touch with his sense of civic duty and commitment—and the virtually countless hours he donates to the health-service and university sectors, among others, makes him a truly remarkable friend and ally. At the University of Ottawa, along with a slate of other key advisory roles, Richard chaired the Board of Governors from 1996 to 2003, and served a total of 22 years as a voting member. In addition to the honours garnered from his private-sector peers, Richard Bertrand proudly wears his Cyprus peacekeeper medals and the Queen's Jubilee Medal for Community Service.
