This program trains specialists who can perform case work with groups and individuals, and who have a solid grasp of both the theories and the social and political contexts surrounding social work. Through a combination of classroom instruction and two full practicum sessions, students learn to apply intervention techniques in the context of issues linked to poverty and social inequalities (based on sex, ethnicity, physical or mental ability, sexual orientation, etc.).

The bachelor's degree also allows students to focus their learning around two core areas; the first area emphasizes the diversity to be found both in social groups and in intervention approaches; the second area looks at the challenges of each generation (ageing population, poverty among youth, etc.). Graduates acquire the practical skills needed to assist vulnerable individuals as well as social and community groups trying to overcome special challenges. At the intellectual and analytical levels, graduates acquire the ability to help design, implement and assess social policies.
