French as a Second Language
The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) offers several programs in French as a second language tailored to the needs and skill level of various groups of students: a basic minor, an advanced minor, and a major in French as a second language.
Our programs are designed to sharpen your skills in French as a second language (FLS).
Courses focus on the four basic types of communication (reading, writing, listening and speaking), and on more specialized aspects such as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and culture. You practice French through different activities that use all sorts of learning materials. You also have access to both modern and traditional learning tools (conversation
groups, Internet activities, as well as audio, video and multimedia materials).
These programs are reserved for non francophone students.
