Classical Studies / Classics
Unlock the secrets of Western civilization and the origins of the modern world. Benefit from not only small classes and a close-knit student community but also resources such as a slide library containing over 40,000 images (one of the largest in the world), a departmental reading room and an on-campus museum that provides volunteer opportunities for students to gain first-hand experience in the classical world and museum work.
The Classics program has mandatory courses in Greek and Latin. Students in Classical Studies are not required to take Latin or Greek but may take them as electives.
