15 optional course credits in mathematics (MAT) at the 3000 or 4000 level
The following courses are strongly recommended for students intending to pursue graduate studies in probability or statistics:
Other courses in probability and statistics which may be of interest include:
9 elective course credits offered by the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Social Sciences or the Telfer School of Management
36 elective course credits
The course MAT3153 cannot be counted for credit if you have previously passed MAT4153. You may however take MAT3153 and then subsequently take MAT4153, and count both for credit.
This program is accredited by the Statistical Society of Canada (SSC). To satisfy the requirements for the professional title of A. Stat. from the SSC, students must take three courses (9 credits) at the 3000 level in one area other than mathematics and statistics. These three courses could be taken among the 9 elective credits part of your Honours in statistics or part of a Minor in an other area added to this program. Consult the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for details.
This message is intended for students registered in the Faculty of Science. If the components of your program of study require common compulsory courses, you will have to replace the credits as follows:
1) 1000-level courses must be replaced with elective course credits;
2) 2000-level courses and above must be replaced with optional course credits from either discipline at the same level or above.
Please note that all programs in the Faculty of Science require a minimum of 12 elective course credits from the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Social Sciences or the Telfer School of Management. Once you have decided on the replacement courses, please inform the Office of Undergraduate Programs of the Faculty of Science by email at [email protected] so we may amend your Rabaska audit accordingly.
