International Development and Globalization

As the world undergoes profound transformations due to globalization and other factors, this program provides a better understanding of the stakes involved in international development and globalization. It also offers a solid grounding in several disciplines, such as political science, sociology, history and economics. The range of knowledge students acquire helps them better understand the challenges and problems surrounding international development and thus readies them for a career in this discipline.

As a graduate of this program, students can look forward to a career with an international scope, either in the field of development itself or in areas related to globalization. Students reap the benefits of training directly in the nation's capital. With the Canadian International Development Agency, the Ministry of External Affairs and various non-government organizations nearby, students have a distinct advantage once their degree is in hand.

The program of international development and globalization offers students numerous career opportunities in the following fields: program officer in a government agency or non-government organization working in international development, international communications expert, international policy analyst, research specialist in peace processes, poverty, social affairs or international aid and development.
