International Studies and Modern Languages

In this honours program, students acquire in-depth knowledge of international affairs, master their second language and gain proficiency in their third language.

At the same time, students learn about the world, international realities and relations between cultures. The program trains students in both of Canada's official languages and in at least one other modern language. The degree also helps develop such skills as critical analysis, synthesis and application of work methods in more than one discipline.

After graduating from this program, students can embark on an international career that takes them into any number of areas. Students are able to respond to key issues in international relations using the language of the country concerned.

The program of international studies and modern languages offers students numerous career opportunities in the following fields: international communications, diplomacy and international policy analysis.
