Every October, the uOttawa community comes together to celebrate its alumni, relive memories and make new ones. Homecoming events are open to all uOttawa students, alumni and staff, as well as friends, family members and the general public.

A message from the Alumni Association President
Dear uOttawa alumni and friends,
I am thrilled to present our 2023–2024 Annual Report. In a rapidly changing world, our alumni consistently excel, demonstrating resilience, innovation, and dedication. Whether through pioneering research, entrepreneurial ventures, community service, or artistic and cultural pursuits, uOttawa alumni continually showcase the transformative impact of our institution.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role as President is recognizing the contributions and achievements of our alumni. Last fall, six distinguished alumni received the Alumni Association Awards of Excellence during a prestigious ceremony, highlighting their inspiring accomplishments.

Alumni Association pledges support to combat student food insecurity
With education recognized as a pathway to opportunity, it’s disheartening that many students face barriers to basic access to nutritious food. The University of Ottawa’s Alumni Association has taken action to address this issue by pledging funds to support initiatives aimed at tackling food insecurity on campus.

Pledge continues to make mental health services more accessible
The Alumni Association’s pledge of $500,000 towards mental health initiatives on campus continues to have a major impact. It has supported the Wellness Lounge and expanded existing counselling services by funding up to 500 additional sessions per year. Emily Houston, 2023 alumna and scholarship recipient, said that receiving support through the wellness lounge relieved my anxiety.
Alumni Association pledge supports Indigenous living and learning community
New residence space will create a culturally rich learning environment for First Nations, Inuit and Métis students thanks to a $500,000 gift over 5-years from the University of Ottawa Alumni Association. This pledge will help Indigenous students cover some of the costs of living in residence.

Career development workshops
Our team hosted three workshops aimed at helping alumni boost their professional skills. These seminars focused on personal brand, public speaking abilities, and network building. This fall we are offering a workshop on Leadership and Allyship with Sarah Saska (MA ‘10). Register now!

Our Global Network hosted alumni events in Calgary, Vancouver, New York City, Toronto, and Montreal. These receptions touched on the themes of women in sport, equity diversity and inclusion in healthcare, and climate change.
