Award-winning architecture

Alex Trebek Alumni Hall is one of the most historic buildings on the uOttawa campus. Constructed between 1875 and 1884 in the neo-Renaissance style, this heritage home at 155-157 Séraphin Marion Private has been beautifully restored to serve the needs of our alumni community. 

We’re not the only ones who are proud of this space. Alumni Hall was recognized by the City of Ottawa during the 2017 Ottawa Architectural Conservation Awards. The building was presented with an Award of Merit in the Adaptive Reuse category, which celebrates restoration projects that involve “adapting an old building for a new purpose while retaining its heritage character.” 

Today, Alumni Hall boasts a spacious reception hall, various meeting rooms and a welcome lounge.

Reserve a room

Explored our space and decided it’s a fit for your event? Bookings for Alumni Hall can be made online through the uOttawa Conventions and Reservations website. Renting Alumni Hall includes exclusive access to Johnson Hall (1,022 square feet), the MBNA Lounge (353 square feet), and the Canada Life (322 square feet) meeting room. All reservations come with a helpful service technician to handle all of your audiovisual equipment needs. Room rental fees range between $250 and $600.

Additional considerations

  • Room capacity differs depending on the type of event and set-up requested.
  • Set-up and tear-down fees for Johnson Hall and the MBNA Lounge range between $85 and $330, depending on the event. Cleaning fees may also apply to any room reservation.

Remembering Alex Trebek

Alumni Hall is named after the late Alex Trebek, long-time Jeopardy! host and proud uOttawa alumnus. The beloved television presenter was one of the most passionate supporters of our alumni community.

The naming of Alumni Hall in his honour is just one way to recognize all that Alex contributed to uOttawa during his life and career.
