Come sing along a rollicking tune in a fun and casual atmosphere. No need to prepare or have musical experience. Lyrics will be projected up onto the wall and songs are led by our stalwart sea shanty singers. Bring friends and make new ones during this special night.
The evening will feature sets from uOttawa’s alumni-formed Bytown Sea Shanty Collective.

Bytown Sea Shanty Collective
Bytown Sea Shanty Collective is a quartet from Ottawa born out of a love of the East Coast. With the call of the high seas in the bones, BSSC has been offering free, accessible monthly sea shanty singalongs in Ottawa for over two years. What started with a first evening bringing in 30 or 40 people now regularly sees 200+ attending, with lineups out the door.
Group members are: Fletcher Gailey-Snell (BA '10, MA '12), Wade Hunter (BSc '08, MBA '21), Chris Meek and Brian Johnson.
