Jess Dixon, JD ‘13
Jess Dixon is a Progressive Conservative MPP who was elected in the Kitchener South-Hespeler riding. She is currently Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Energy.
Dixon was a prosecutor for both the provincial and federal governments, supporting alternative justice initiatives and evidence-based innovation in the practice of criminal law. As a law student at the University of Ottawa, Dixon worked in the Ministry of the Attorney General and then full-time as an Assistant Crown Attorney. She was called to the bar in 2014.
Goldie Ghamari JD ‘12
Goldie Ghamari is a Progressive Conservative MPP, who has been re-elected to represent the Carleton riding. She is currently the Chair of the Standing Committee on General Government.
Ghamari is an experienced international trade lawyer and commercial litigator. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in June 2013, and in August 2013 she started her own law practice. She has been in private practice since then On June 7, 2018. Ghamari was voted in as Carleton’s first MPP making her the first woman of Iranian descent to hold elected office anywhere in Canada.
Brian Saunderson, LLB ‘94
Brian Saunderson is a Progressive Conservative MPP, who was elected in the Simcoe-Grey riding. He is the Parliamentary Secretary to Attorney General.
Prior to his time in politics, Saunderson practiced law for 22 years, primarily focusing on civil litigation, real estate, wills and estates, and corporation law. He also served on boards of numerous not-for-profit organizations locally, provincially and nationally. Since 2014, Saunderson has served in municipal politics and was elected the Mayor of Collingwood in 2018.
Effie Triantafilopoulos LLB ‘76
Effie Triantafilopoulos has been re-elected to represent the riding of Oakville North-Burlington. She is the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.
Triantafilopoulos was first elected in June 2018. She is Senior Counsel at Vassos Law LLP and also serves on the Board of the World Hellenic Interparliamentary Association. She worked as a senior advisor in three federal government departments focused on economic growth and trade. As Chief of Staff to Ministers at the Departments of Industry, Treasury Board, and External Affairs and International Trade, she was involved with the implementation of the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement.
She holds an LLB and a Master of Laws in International Trade and Competition Law.
