Gee-Gees camps are back!

During the summer, the University of Ottawa offers children and youth in our community the opportunity to learn and explore in our safe, friendly environment. Our fully bilingual Gee-Gees make up our team of coaches, counsellors and leaders. Our specially designed programs motivate all children and youth to take part in a variety of sports, games, activities, and initiatives. The chants, laughter and friendly banter of campers and counsellors are a staple on campus!

We adhere to OCA’s standards, which evaluate our commitment to safety, wellness, diversity, inclusivity, staff training, qualifications, and programming.

The cafeteria, Gee-Gees camps offer daily lunches and follow a pre-determined meal schedule, that rotates throughout the summer. Families will be sent a schedule which includes the meals for each week in their welcome package. Please note, outside food is not permitted in our Dining Hall.
The Dietary Restrictions Program can accommodate the most common allergies and food restrictions. We have an allergies menu which provides: one meat option, and one vegan option at every lunch.
We can accommodate allergies to: peanuts, nuts, gluten, eggs, dairy, fish, seafood and legumes. The program DOES NOT accommodate the following allergies: soy and mustard, or legumes (if also vegetarian or vegan)

Swimming, we are very excited to announce that our Olympic sized swimming pool will re-open ahead of this summer! All camps will have the opportunity to swim during the week. Pool staff will use The Canadian Swim to Survive standard as a minimum national standard of swimming skill. All campers who wish to go into the water will have to complete a swim test to identify their swimming level. Life jackets will be provided, or campers can bring their own. Our Gee-Gees staff team is Safeguard certified, and certified lifeguards are always on deck during our swim time.

Celebrate the 2024 Olympics with us! Campers are encouraged to wear the jersey of their favorite country and come cheer the athletes on with us! They will compete in their very own mini-Olympics and maybe even climb on the podium at the Gee-Gees Olympic week closing ceremony! Check out our website for more information! The Olympic themed weeks are limited to the weeks of July 26th to August 11th 2024.
