Whether you’re looking to lift, run, dance, or meditate your way through the semester, we’ve got you covered. This Fall, we’re offering a variety of registered activities hosted by some awesome instructors who are looking to make your university experience as fun, active, and engaging as possible. Here’s a sample of some of the classes being offered for this Fall:
Dance Classes – Dancing is one of the most enjoyable ways to get a full-body workout. Learn how to dance in a variety of styles – Contemporary, ballet, hip-hop, and more! Our dance courses are designed to be suitable for all levels of dancers, so even if you don’t have the moves quite yet, you’ll get the hang of it after taking one of our 10-week courses!
Cardio – Are you looking to build up your stamina and endurance? If so, you may be interested in our two cardio courses – Stride to Success and Indoor Cycling. Stride to Success teaches you running techniques and injury prevention to get you prepared for 5-10km runs, while indoor cycling lets you unleash your inner “spin-freak” in an energizing and fun environment.
Weight Training – Learn how to properly execute ‘The Big 3’ of strength training – Squats, deadlifts, and bench presses – in our Learn to Lift course. This is the perfect course for beginners or those looking for professional guidance on their form. We also offer a weight training class exclusively for all self-identified women so that you can get expert coaching in a small group environment.
Skating – If you’re a beginner skater, you can sign up for our Learn to Skate course to develop the basic skills you’ll want to have for a day on the Canal or at your local rink. For those who already have a handle on the basic techniques, there are drop-in sessions throughout the entire semester. Bring a friend or a few and enjoy an afternoon on the ice!
If these classes aren’t for you, maybe you’ll find your groove in some of our other offerings such as aquatics, yoga, , and certification courses. Do what moves you, and maybe you won’t know until you try it.
Take care of your body so it can take care of you – Register for these classes (and many more!) on the Gee-Gee Reg website, and remember to register for your workouts this semester as well!
