Health promotion aims to spread awareness about various health and wellness topics on campus. We are also a group of peers here to listen and support you and offer you a holistic approach to well-being. We organize multiple services such as:

Student Health and Wellness Centre
The center is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of health professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, health promotion specialists psychotherapists, a psychologist, and psychiatrists working together in a shared care model.
Empower Me
Students covered by the UOSU Health Plan, you now have access to additional support through Empower Me, a mental health and wellness service that seeks to contribute to a resilient student community by supporting existing on-campus and Studentcare mental health resources.
Empower Me has a number of professionals with various domains of expertise, including psychology, psychotherapy, social work, nutrition, etc., to support you and respond effectively to diverse needs. You can access services via telephone, videoconference, or in person (when permitted in accordance with public health guidelines and COVID-19 advisories).

Case Case management (student support)
Do you see any behaviour that may be out of character or unusual for someone? Early intervention plays a key role in supporting mental health challenges. The Student Support team offers non-clinical case management services to students with complex needs at the University of Ottawa. You can:
Peer Support
Peer support is a great way to speak to someone who can relate to the challenges you may be facing. Our Peer Support Assistants are familiar with the challenges of university life. They often study in fields like medicine, psychology, or social work, and are trained to listen and provide informal emotional support.
