Included in the National Standard are 13 organizational factors that are elements within the influence of the workplace that can impact the psychological health and safety of employees. We encourage management, staff and faculty to view these videos starting with the one that has the most impact in their work environment. Each video is accompanied by information and a collaborative activity to take action.

In line with this priority, Human Resources is leading the Excellence Canada's Mental Health at Work initiative. Excellence Canada provides a framework that aligns with the requirements of the National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace. In doing so, it identifies concrete actions needed to achieve a culture of mental health and wellness.

The National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace defines a psychologically healthy and safe workplace as a workplace that promotes workers' psychological well-being and actively works to prevent harm to worker psychological health, including in negligent, reckless or intentional ways
Being a mindful employee: an orientation to psychological health and safety in the workplace
The Mental Health Commission of Canada developed this free online training program about psychological health and safety in the workplace. Learn about the 13 psychosocial workplace factors from the National Standard of Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace and what you can do to help yourself and others in the workplace. The average time for completion is 75 minutes.
