Develop leadership and interpersonal skills in our Leaders in Training camps.

Camp Hours 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Our Leaders in Training Camp is perfect for youth between the ages of 13 and 15. It focuses on building confidence and developing teamwork and leadership abilities. Through multiple workshops on topics such as communication, group facilitation, program planning and preparedness, along with interactive debriefing sessions, participants move a step closer to job readiness. They gain an in-depth understanding of program planning and group facilitation, as well as basic childcare practices.   

Volunteering is a major component. Youth in this camp are placed in ongoing Gee-Gees camps programs and matched with counsellors, to get hands-on working experience within a large team setting.  

Campers leave with:  

  • Campers enrolled in Session 1,3 and 5 will receive a first aid certification, and those enrolled in session 2 and 4 will receive high five certification. 
  • Job readiness skills  
  • Personalized Volunteer placement letter: This will consist of a signed document that mentions the tasks that participants have accomplished in this program; any certifications obtained as well as official acknowledgment of the completion of 8+ volunteer hours within our programs.  
  • First aid and CPR/AED certification 

Main goals:  

  • Earn your first aid certification as a first step towards job readiness  
  • Understand various nuances of program planning and group facilitation  
  • Develop overall communication techniques and basic child-care practices 

All camps are bilingual, and daily lunches are included with the cost of your camp.
