• Be registered full-time in the BASc in Software Engineering program and maintain a full-time status during all study terms, including the one after the last work term
• Follow the co-op sequence and the faculty course sequence
• Must be in good academic standing (based on Faculty of Engineering policies)

Co-op fees

As a student in a mandatory co-op program, you also pay co-op fees (announced every year by the Registrar) during each study term.

Sequence 1 - by default, all students follow this sequence

Sequence 2 - available to students hired for 8-month terms with the same company

Sequence 3 - available to students hired for 12-month terms with the same company

Sequence 4 - Followed by students that need to study in the summer after year one.

Sequence 5 - After completing two work terms, students can opt to follow this sequence.

Student Salaries

Starting in the Fall 2023 work term, students and professors (academic coordinators) must complete and submit an updated co-op work term report called a Co-op Reflective Report via the CO-OP Navigator. All the information can be found on the Work Term Report webpage.

Fourth to sixth co-op terms (T4-T6, likely SEG4901/SEG4902/SEG4903): If you already have successfully completed 3 reports (typically, this is your 4th, 5th or 6th internship), then the employer’s signature is not required, and nothing needs to be submitted on the Navigator. Instead, please fill this short mandatory online Survey (prepared in collaboration with co-op and SESA) where you will be required to provide constructive feedback to the employer, the co-op office, and the SEG program. This new mechanism will simplify the aggregation of this information and its sharing with the SEG curriculum committee (including SESA representatives) and the co-op office.
