Every year, the faculties, the Office of Graduate Studies and the Co-op Office select seven co-op students to receive a $500 prize from their faculty. Afterwards, the Co-op Office awards the following additional prizes:
- First prize: $1000
- Second prize: $500
- Third prize: $250
These prizes reward the exceptional work these students have accomplished during their co-op placement.
Selection criteria
Selected students must have shown excellence in the following areas:
- Academic results
- Professional achievement (contributions during one or more co-op placements)
- Community involvement (extracurricular activities, etc.)
These selection criteria were developed by Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL Canada), which grants a similar award. The University of Ottawa award serves to recognize some of our outstanding CO-OP students.
National and provincial awards
The winner of the first prize may be nominated for annual awards presented by Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL Canada) and Experiential & Work-Integrated Learning Ontario. For more information, visit their websites.
