Scenic, historical, spiritual are a few words that describe my experience. Whitehorse is not too big, yet still not a small town. Everywhere around you there is an outdoor activity to participate in, it is easy to get to know people, there is vibrant First Nations culture present everywhere and the food is great.

Important lessons I learned definitely include dealing with tourists and balancing everything outside of work activities with work. I also learned the importance of teamwork, working closely with other organizations and having fun with the job and duties I was responsible for.

I would definitely recommend this experience to another student because everyone should experience Northern Canada and it is quite easy to find a job in the diverse, prosperous city of Whitehorse.
