To be eligible, students must provide the University with a letter of recommendation from their high-school principal and have an overall average of 90% or more.

Head Start program
Grade 12 students who are high achievers may be eligible to take one three-unit course per term at a cost of $150 per course. These courses may count towards the degree requirements of the student's program when they enrol at the University of Ottawa at a later time. Students can take up to a maximum of two university courses or the equivalent of six units.

To participate in this program, students must send an email to [email protected] and provide the requested documentation. After receiving the requested documentation, the University will contact the student with further information.
Selected students are enrolled as non-degree students in the gifted student category and must comply with the same academic policies and regulations as regular uOttawa students. Consult academic regulations to find out more about non-degree student categories and applicable regulations.
