Career Development Path for international students

Students working at table
The University of Ottawa is happy to present the Career Development Path for international students. As a community partner, we invite you to join this initiative.

What is this initiative about?

This partnership aims to give international students the necessary tools and skills to overcome the challenges of integrating into the job market in Canada.

Throughout the 2024 spring-summer and fall terms, students will participate in internships, micro-placements, competitions, events, community-based or industrial projects, or community research and will thus contribute to the missions of our partner organizations. Through your participation, you will not only have access to innovative solutions, but also gain more visibility and create new collaborations.

Why should you participate?

  • To draw from a pool of motivated, qualified students who bring inventive ideas to the table.
  • To benefit from the specialized skills and knowledge of students, who will be supported by professors for curricular activities.
  • To start collaborations, extend your network within the university community and encourage mutual learning.

Examples of potential student projects

  • Developing marketing resources during a work placement (e.g. seven hours per week for four months)
  • Creating a system to manage the food surpluses of a local company in a student competition or think tank
  • Implementing a digital marketing strategy by heading a group project within a course setting
  • Producing a literature review on sustainable business practices

How can you become a partner?

For any activities or projects planned for this summer, contact us as soon as possible in May. For those taking place in the fall, you can contact us a bit later, but we suggest reaching out before August.
