Notice biographique
Le professeur Lisheng Wang est membre du Département de biochimie, microbiologie et immunologie de l’Université d’Ottawa. Membre principal de l’Institut de la biologie des systèmes d’Ottawa et chercheur affilié à l’Institut de recherche de l'Hôpital d’Ottawa, le professeur Wang a obtenu son diplôme de l’école de médecine en Chine. Il compléta ensuite sa formation clinique postdoctorale à l’Unité nationale australienne de transplantation hépatique. Le professeur Wang obtint son doctorat à l’Université de Sydney (Australie) sur l’étude des facteurs immunologiques impliqués dans la transplantation. Il poursuivit ses recherches postdoctorales en immunologie à Harvard Medical School (USA), ainsi que des recherches postdoctorales en biologie des cellules-souches et en médecine régénératrice au Robarts Research Institute (Canada).
Intérêts de recherche
En utilisant des approches de la biologie cellulaire et moléculaire ainsi que des modèles animaux, le laboratoire du professeur Wang s’intéresse à
- Conditionner les cellules-souches embryonnaires humaines (CSEh) à devenir des progénitures de cellules circulatoires et immunitaires pour établir de nouvelles thérapies basées sur des cellules-souches et réduire le rejet de greffe ;
- Cibler les voies de signalisation liées au développement embryonnaire dans le cancer du sein afin d’améliorer l’efficacité du traitement.
