Biographie

Le Dr Hammami a complété en 2004 sa maîtrise en biochimie à l'Institut Pasteur de Tunis, Université de Tunis El Manar. Il a obtenu en 2009 son Doctorat en Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire de l'Université de Lille1 - Sciences & Technologies (France) en cotutelle avec l'Université de Tunis El Manar (Tunisie). Il a ensuite complété cinq ans de formation postdoctorale en sciences et technologies des aliments à l'Université Laval, Canada. Il a été ensuite professionnel de recherche à l'Institut sur la Nutrition et les Aliments Fonctionnels (INAF), Université Laval. En 2017, le Dr Hammami a rejoint l'École des Sciences de la Nutrition, Faculté des sciences de la santé, à l'Université d'Ottawa en tant que professeur adjoint en microbiologie intestinale.

Le domaine d’expertise du Dr. Hammami se situe dans l’étude des bactériocines, des probiotiques et de leur potentiel d’utilisation pour moduler l’équilibre du microbiote intestinal humain et animal, et en industrie alimentaire. Il a également une solide expertise dans le développement de bases de données et outils bioinformatiques, ainsi que leur application pour le développement de nouveaux peptides antimicrobiens.
